Update to Diocese of Davenport Protocols

From the Bishop’s Office—October 27, 2021

Regarding music ministry, the keys to preventing spread include: vaccination, masking, good ventilation, volume (loudness), limiting time, and distance apart. Therefore at this time:

  1. One or two cantors may be used. They must be masked. It is strongly encouraged that they be vaccinated. The volume should be kept to a minimum with the use of amplification.
  2. The assembly may sing, as long as those singing are masked and sing softly (no louder than a normal speaking voice), Those not vaccinated and/or not masked ought not to sing. Congregational singing may include the Mass parts and responses/antiphons. The singing of the Gloria and of hymns remains limited to the cantor(s) at this time.

Throughout this pandemic, all Catholics in the Diocese of Davenport are dispensed from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass. We will continue to livestream the 7:30am Sunday Mass and the 7:15am Daily Mass on Monday thru Thursday. Our weekly email blast has the Sunday bulletin attached. Copies of the bulletin are also available on our website, in the church and at the office. The parish office is open, Monday thru Friday, from 9:00am to 4:00pm. In the case of an emergency need after hours, please leave a message at 563-322-0902.
